Object:
Do objects belong to us, or do we end up belonging to them?
Taner:

I don't like the feeling of belonging or ownership. It creates a hierarchical order on both sides. Attachment turns into dependency and obligation. Objects are companions to me, and naturally, I am a companion to them. Let's say we collaborate at a certain time through certain shared experiences. :)

Object:
Do you believe that items have a memory?
Taner:

I don't know if items have a memory. However, I definitely think they possess a sense of lived experience. I believe that this lived experience offers reflections of us while also creating context and partnerships. This actually creates a shared memory with the item.

Object:
Which is more important to you: an object's function, its form, or its story?
Taner:

Sometimes all of them, sometimes none of them. Even its mere existence can create an interaction in me. However, since every encounter creates a mark, every mark creates an emotion, and these emotions create a memory, its story is always important to me.

Object:
A moment when an "item" transformed you?
Taner:

The first thing that came to my mind was a notebook. When I picked up the pen again after years and started filling a notebook with writing, many things changed. My mind and body found their rhythm again. My thoughts became more organized. I haven't said goodbye to any of my notebooks since this reunion.

Object:
Is there any object you collect as a collection item?
Taner:

I don't know if it qualifies as a collection, but after a while, from the stationery store where I went to buy notebooks, I started buying purple pencils in different shades. Later on, this continued to grow across different places and times.
